What are the functions and requirements of flame retardant reflective fabrics?

For non-frontline workers, perhaps in our daily life, we have less knowledge and attention on flame-retardant reflective fabrics, reflective materials, and other information. At most, we can see clothing with reflective fabrics. So what are flame-retardant reflective fabrics? What are the functions and requirements?

1. Washing requirements before testing:

A.75 degrees, wash 12 times (following the industrial washing method of EN ISO 10528; it can also be washed 5 times according to customer requirements, and then tested.

B. Immerse the sample in water (BS 5651:1978), dry clean it 5 times according to ISO 3175, and then perform the test. This method is suitable for chemical fiber, pure cotton, blended fabrics, and reflective fabrics.

2. Meet ASTM1506; before washing or dry cleaning, press D6413 to perform vertical burning, and the continuous burning time is up to 2 seconds; after 25 washing or dry cleaning, press D6413 to perform vertical burning, and the continuous burning time is up to 2 seconds; arc test results The longest continuous burning time is 5 seconds, tested following ASTM1959.

Washing method: The fabrics suitable for washing should be washed with the method of the American Textile Association AATCC 135 25

3. Meet the NFPA1971 multi-layer structure fire-fighting clothing standard.

The thermal protection performance TPP value of the entire protective clothing is not less than 35 (cal/cm2); the entire clothing is subjected to a penetration test without liquid leakage; the clothing shell, lining, life-saving equipment, and other components are burned vertically, and the average carbon loss length It cannot exceed 100mm, the average flame extension time cannot exceed 2 seconds, and there should be no droplets.
